It’s been a long time coming but UCLH nearly have all the necessary paperwork completed to start recruiting people into the US funded TRIALNET Study. Relatives of people with type 1 diabetes have a 10-15 times greater risk for developing the disease. The TRIALNET Study is dedicated to the prevention and early treatment of type 1 diabetes in these people. The study offers screening of family members of children with type 1 diabetes and in those who are at high future risk of developing type 1 diabetes, and recruits them into suitable studies.
