An alternative way to delivery insulin into the body!

Recently I was involved in helping to manage a brave young boy with type 1 diabetes, who developed severe skin reactions to insulin injections. After many months of trying, the team that I work with decided together with the family to attempt (successfully as it turns out!) to deliver insulin directly into the abdomen, hence bypassing the skin.  The case resulted in significant media coverage and myself and the team I work with continue to work with the family.
